I always wondered whether Brits were confused/totally grossed out when hearing an American talk about about a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Although, come to think of it, peanut butter isn't exactly big in the UK, so the mental image might be even stranger. Viva le Reese's!
I'd never thought of this! I love PB & J sandwiches and still think it's weird that there's only a tiny little space on the shelf at the grocery store for PB. And usually only 2 or 3 brands available. Strangely, you can actually find Jif and other yummy American brands at conservative Jewish shops. I asked Ross what most Brits would think of if an American mentioned a PB & J sandwich. He said they'd probably just ignore you :)
