But what exactly does it mean? Let's explore the main lyric...
"Say you love me like a hobo"
Does this mean:
A) Say you love me as If I, myself, were a hobo.
B) Say you love me in the manner which a hobo loves something else.
C) Say you love me in a faux-hobo voice.
Discussion:
A) Unlikely... People aren't generally known to be overly-affectionate towards the residence-challenged. Is this some sort of strange double talk where the singer is really saying that she wants her lover to hold his handbag closer when he passes by her? Tell her she smells? Avoid eye contact when they meet on the street, but give generously to a charity which will help meet her needs? Certainly a confusing simile.
B) Possible... I'm not sure what the general consensus is on the level of fierceness of hobo-love. They may be known to be loyal, tender, and ardent in their love. I did google "hobo love" in an attempt to do research on the subject. I don't recommend that you repeat my mistake.
C) Our winner... in a craze sweeping the nation (or perhaps just my marriage), partners are being asked to tell their lovers that they love them using a faux-hobo voice. The following is a transcript of an actual conversation:
Meg: Remember when I loved you?
Ross: Like a hobo? Or regular style?
Meg: Both.
So my friends- I encourage each of you to tell at least one person today that you love them like a hobo.
Don't get me wrong- I love tights as much as the next girl. I wore plenty of them back in my ballet days.

I didn't restrict my tight wearing to ballet. I also used it to make bold sartorial statements. Statements such as:
"I'm a Cabbage Patch lovin' cowgirl!"
and
"I like to wear matching Mommy & Me outfits!"

This is one growing trend that I can work with... mostly.
I love a pair of tights during cold weather. I've got several pairs of black, a brown and a navy. Heck, I even went crazy and bought a pair of grey last week.
I really like fun, bright-colored tights too. I've just never managed to get around to trying the look.
I can see how these might be fun or sexy under certain circumstances... maybe? sorta?
But the way to wear them (based on my casual observances of girls aged 12-30 in Manchester town centre) appears to be with uber-short cut-off denim shorts. Almost like denim underwear. Yeah.
According to the internet, I am wrong. This is super-hot and very "on trend" right now. I'll admit I've seen a couple of pictures with dressier shorts that I almost don't hate. But am I wrong about this look?
I don't think so. But then, this is my blog and I can say whatever I like.
One of my favourite things about living in a new country is all of the new pop culture. There are new B & C list celebrities to learn and new junk TV to watch.
Eggheads is a quiz show that airs every weekday at 6PM. It's probably the equivalent of Jeopardy in the US... but better.
It's a format that they probably would never use in America. The panel of "Eggheads" are not very glamorous- ok maybe CJ and Judith, but the others are not exactly the stuff of US TV stardom. That is part of what makes it so much fun to watch. The awkward nerdiness of the guys. Daphne quietly cheering on the opponents in her sweet way. The pace is slower and there are zero special effects.
I chalk The Eggheads up as a cultural "win" for England and I leave you with one of my husbands infamous "jokes"...
I'm not looking forward to the Easter episode of Eggheads... the contestants are just too hollow.
