I've been wearing them like this (pinned back) nearly every day.
They don't look terrible in this picture, but here they are in all their glory.
So I grabbed some scissors and chop, chop, chopped.
I'm not gonna lie. I don't love them. I usually have keep them longish and swooping off to the right. It works for me. I know this.
I was pretty sure that straight across the forehead, full fringebangs wouldn't suit me. But I was tempted. Tempted by pictures like this.
There was one fatal flaw in my plan.
I do not look like Zooey Deschanel.
Duh.
The most important difference is this:
My ratio is more like 33% fringebangs/ 66% face
I've just spotted another difference. Zooey's forehead is the widest part of her face. My cheeks/jaw are the widest point. Oh well. It's only hair and they'll grow out soon enough...
Have you ever tried a look that you liked on someone else, but found it didn't work on you?
Have you ever taken scissors to your own hair?
I disagree - I think your new bangs look fab!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks! I definitely don't hate them. I just won't be sorry when they grow out a little :)
ReplyDeleteI think 33% bangs works for you. It looks really nice!
ReplyDeleteThank you Artsy-Ashley! You're very kind. They're already growing out a bit, but still not long enough to sweep to the side.
ReplyDeleteHi there, I've just been reading through your blog and really enjoying it (found you through "Beyond the Queen" blog). I think your fringe is really cute. I'm always tempted to do some as well. I hate paying for a haircut, so actually had my husband cut my hair a few weeks ago! Scary! I'm going to attempt cutting layers into my hair soon too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading Kris! Welcome! I actually finally got a real haircut this weekend. My layers were sooo grown out and I feel 10x better. You're very brave to let your hubs cut your hair!
ReplyDeletethat looks very nice on you I think.I adore zooey also she looks very sweet:)
ReplyDeleteyour bangs are cute! they don't look like Z's, yet they are you!
